Let me ask you a question, when you're thinking of booking a hotel, what are the things you look out for? For me, I look for convenience, beauty, and good reception. These minor details are why there are hotels and then THERE ARE HOTELS. The hotels that fit under the latter are those that take your breath away the second you see them and are those that leave you with an unforgettable experience.

To give you this experience, I've compiled a list of my top hotels in the world. Read on!

1.     RiadFes Maya in Fes, Morocco

The very first time you step into the inner courtyard of Riad Fes Maya, your heart might stop. The elegant wood carvings and gorgeous Moorish tiles will make you feel as though you just stepped into a piece of Moroccan history. Their rooms are just as enchanting and equally mind-blowing.  If you're a fan of traditional steam baths, and a spa, you can get that at RiadFes Maya.

2.     HotelBelmar, Monteverde, Costa Rica

If you ask anyone who's lodged into Hotel Belmar why they love this place, they'll either tell you it's because of the lush cloud forest that is everywhere, or the waterfall, or even the sun deck where you can relax as you stare at the nearby serene spring water pond. For some, it is because they don't have to leave nature behind when they go back into their rooms as all rooms and suites are furnished with natural hardwoods and have balconies overlooking the cloud forest.

3.     Blanket Bay in Glenorchy, New Zealand

The hotel is situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and is surrounded by the snow-capped Southern Alps. The interior of the lodge shouldn't even be described as merely beautiful. It is beyond that.
