Driveway Drain Systems

A conventional driveway drain, used in domestic spaces, is retailed with two basic types of drainage systems-a combined drainage system or linear drainage system. Every driveway drainage system provides either surface or sub-surface drainage. Surface drainage involves the disposal of water sourced from the top surface of the driveway, pavement or patio. Sub-surface drainage refers to the use of underground pipes and complicated plumbing solutions to expel water found beneath the driveways surface.
Combined Drainage System

This is the most common drainage system used in patios or driveways of bigger homes. This is also the cheapest form of external drainage system. It combines drain water from various sources and expels it through a common medium. Here, the surface water or the storm water that is drained off the pavement or the roof is expelled along with the groundwater and foul water. This form of drainage is also referred to as mix drainage since it combines draining-away surface water with sub-surface drain water.
Linear Driveway Drainage System

Most driveway or patio drainage systems have a linear arrangement. These are strictly surface-drainage systems. This kind of drainage configuration is laid along the entire length of the driveway. This makes it a bit more expensive than drainage systems that have specific drainage sites. It is usually installed in a typical U shape, encircling the entire driveway. Liner drainage system usually involves the use of gratings to camouflage the drainage system in the backdrop of the surrounding landscape.
