Why Do We Value How We Look So Highly?

Women are like snow flakes. No two are the same. We are as different on the outside as we are on the inside. With that being said, why do we care so much about what others think of us?

Most women ask the inevitable question when they have an outfit on. How does this look Men are afraid to answer in the event of hurting our feelings. Women say to be honest and that they just want an opinion, but when the answer comes out, we wish they would have kept it to themselves. We then get upset and say that our feeling were hurt. How confusing is this for men?

Truth being told, women want to look beautiful on the outside as well as on the inside. We see pictures, commercials, and advertisements everyday showing thin and beautiful women in skimpy outfits. Then a feeling of longing to be that way enters. A women feels the jealous twinge when she see someone who looks better than her or has something that she wants but does not have.

It seems that we are not happy with how we are and are out to constantly change to be what we think is better. Our insecurities run rapid within ourselves and we vow to do anything and everything in our power to look the way we think we should.

The saying beauty is in the eyes of the beholder is very powerful. It takes a very strong individual to have the inner securities to know that they are beautiful. Displaying kindness, generosity, and compassion makes us appear beautiful to others. As is goes for the opposite end of the spectrum.

When we are criticizing, mean, and nasty, we appear so ugly. Only when you have true inner beauty then can you outwardly express beauty. When you are comfortable with who you are then you can stand up straighter, have confidence in yourself, and let your inner beauty flow.

We try everyday to be someone others want us to be. Be it by purchasing the latest fashion or even changing our attitude. We want so much to please others and make them happy that we lose sight of who we really are. If we want to be truly loved by others, we need to comfortable in our own skin and love who we are on the inside as much as we love what we look like in a mirror.

New Trend in Womens Halloween Costumes Call for Attention to Details

Women used to throw together a costume for a weekend costume party from whatever they found at the local thrift store or in their closet, but these days women’s Halloween costumes are going high end. Today’s women are looking for stylish, well-made costumes with attention to detail.

Part of the trend is due to the rise in costume events for adults. Where costumes were once primarily reserved for children, today’s adults often attend Halloween parties sponsored by charities, companies and local restaurants and bars. The competition to see who wears the most striking outfit can be fierce, and both women and men are investing heavily in outfitting themselves to impress.

Women in particular are looking for outfits that step beyond the typical pre-packaged, synthetic French maid’s costume or generic long gown of the past. Today’s women want distinctive costumes with accessories that will set them apart from the crowd.

Retailers have seen a rise in interest in women’s Halloween costumes based on historical figures such as Cleopatra, Marie Antoinette, Marylin Monroe and Geisha Girls in the last few years. Because these were real people, consumers demand authenticity and realistic details, not “costumey” or unrealistic look. Designers have taken this to heart and developed costume lines for a variety of budgets that include headdresses, wigs, jewelry and accessories.

As Cleopatra you’ll have a sumptuous collar and twining bracelet, no doubt of a snake with jeweled eyes. Geisha costumes aren’t just printed nightgowns with a sash anymore. Today they’re rich brocade kimonos with obi sashes, rich headdresses, fans and beautiful black wigs for the exotic look of the Orient.

For more mythical figures, costume designers can take a bit more latitude in the designs, but aren’t cutting any corners at all on the details! One look at a deluxe Medusa costume and you’ll see that today’s Women’s Halloween Costumes are fit for the stage. Materials like satins and chiffons will hold up to the most rigorous wear and tear, so ladies can wear them to more than one event. A recent Medusa costume we saw had an impressively detailed headdress of entwined, writhing snakes massed around an intricate gold grown set with a central faux ruby. The matching necklace of twisted snakes completed the outfit perfectly. The craftsmanship was equal to that of fine costume jewelry rather than a typical mass-produced Halloween costume.

For women who want to highlight their beauty, costumes like Athena and Aphrodite will frame them beautifully in outfits that are more true gown than flimsy costume. Look for women’s Halloween costumes made from luxurious fabrics like velveteen, crushed velvet, satin and chiffon for a realistic look.

The favorites of past years, such as pirate wenches, 1950’s sock hop girls, and witches haven’t completely fallen by the wayside, but they’re definitely new and improved! Today’s women’s witch costumes aren’t just a stretchy nylon dress and a pointed hat with some green face make-up. You can go Goth, sexy, classic or dress up your look to be the prettiest witch on the block. Details like sequins, embroidery, pointed shoes with rhinestone buckles and spider necklaces take today’s witch costumes up a notch.

Shopping for women’s Halloween costumes this year is like shopping for a great new dress for a special occasion. You’re investing in a really great outfit and all the accessories to go with it. Have fun!

By attending a women’s surf camp, you will have a good time of turning strangers into friends! The waves may come and go but surf buddies you meet at camp will always be there to stay.

7. Experience Bliss. What more bliss can there be amidst the sand, the sun and the surf? Surfing is a wonderful way of detaching yourself from the busy world and all its concerns because in your surfing moment, nothing else exists but you and nature. It is also a good opportunity to make contact with your own spirituality, to mend yourself together for personal growth and personal improvement. With surfing, you are sure to experience bliss on earth!

8. Visit a new place. One of the most enjoyable parts in attending a surf camp is that you not only learn the sport but also get to visit a new place! Visiting a new place is a euphoric and inspiring experience. You will have the opportunity of seeing and visiting new sights, meeting new people, immersing with the locals, trying new dishes and learning new cultures!

9. Experience a true vacation. In an ordinary vacation, your fun might be overtaken by your concerns such as where to go, how to reach the next destination, what to do next, where to get a meal, etc. But at a women’s surf camp, those won’t be your concerns anymore but only the concerns of your women’s surf camp organizers. Most camps if not all are organized, scheduled and well planned. All you have to worry about is yourself and how you are going to enjoy every second of your women’s surf camp vacation!

The Plus Size Woman

Over the last fifty years or so, the perception of what constitutes a beautiful woman has been very heavily influenced by Hollywood and countless glossy and trendy magazines. Tall, slim and elegant has been the standard by which we have all been brainwashed into believing was the norm. Nurtured by the media and made famous and rich by the public, leggy models with virtually no flesh on their bones have been lauded as the beautiful people.

The truth is that these stick-like creatures are not the norm. Indeed, many of them struggle to keep their weight down to the “required” level and resort to many dubious and downright dangerous practices in order to keep fitting in. It’s time to change the way we see ourselves and start realizing that people come in all shapes and sizes and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not at the whim of Hollywood and glam magzines.

Plus size women should celebrate their curves and feel happy in their skin, they are beautiful and should relish the fact that they are the most feminine of all women. However, very often plus size women struggle to come to terms with their particular kind of beauty and go to ridiculous lengths to try and counter their natural feminine state.

One of the reasons for this seems to be the lack of great looking and trendy clothing and many women who wear plus size clothing can have a hard time getting stylish clothing in the bigger sizes. Luckily for them, with the introduction of online shopping on the Internet, the wide selection available to plus-size ladies and plus-size teenagers has expanded enormously. Quite a lot of online stores carry a limited range but more and more are focussing exclusively on plus size women’s clothing.

Plus size clothing exclusively for women is now widely available in sizes fourteen and over. This type of clothing is often known as “Women’s Sizes” and can usually be found in a department of their own or possibly in a specialty boutique store that exists solely for females who wear plus size clothing. Plus size clothing is normally available in number sizes 14,16,18,20, etc or with the letter X, which means extra large. Plus size brands utilize this selection with a range of numbers 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, and 6X. Somtimes clothing that goes above size 24 or 3X are referred to as “Super Size”.

So, come on you beautiful women, start showing off your curves, not trying to hide them. Live your life as nature intended and make the world a more joyous place.

The Joys Of A Healthy Pregnancy Depends On Water

Whether you are a pregnant female or not, water is the key fluid required for the healthy functioning of all body organs. During pregnancy, your body actually needs more of this fluid to withstand the demanding changes that are being placed on your body to produce and nurture a healthy offspring.

Adequate water consumption for the safety of the developing fetus, as well as the mother is one of the most important preventive health maintenance strategies recommended by prenatal health care professionals. Of which, water is the main substance for the production of breast milk and necessary for good lactation.

Drinking plenty of water during pregnancy helps the mother avoid dehydration problems that can lead to quite a lengthy list of negative health complications such as headaches, water retention, nausea (morning sickness, cramps, oedema (ankle swelling), dizziness, heartburn, and elevated blood pressure. During the third trimester, the lack of water in the body can can cause early contractions that leads to premature labor.

A common health problem, among women that are pregnant, is the risk for developing a urinary tract infection. Increased water intake helps lowers this risk considerably, by keeping urine diluted and from pooling up to long in the bladder. Thus, your entire urine excretion system stays flushed.

Although it may seem counterintuitive, the more water you drink during your pregnancy, the less water the body will try to hold on to, especially if there is water/salt imbalance (more salt than water). It will also help avoid constipation and hemorrhoids.

So, how do you know if you are drinking enough water? The best indicator that you are getting enough is by the color of your excreted urine. If it is dark yellow or orange it is a signal to increase your water intake. Light yellow to pale colored urine, and you are doing fine.

An easy way to measure how much you are drinking everyday, is to fill a two or three quart container, with a goal of trying to finish it all by the end of the day.

Summer season pregnancies require awareness on your part to add an extra glass or two to accommodate for mobile exertion that results in perspiring and equals more fluids being lost. Try to steer clear of of caffeinated beverages such as tea, cola, or coffee, and do not make the mistake of counting them as part of your regular daily water intake. Caffeine is considered a mild drug and is a diuretic. These types of drinks, although made with water, will actually cause more urination and force more water out of your body.

So, what if don’t like the taste of water, and are having a hard time making yourself drink what you should?

To help ease yourself into the healthy habit, hopefully a good habit you will keep after delivery, try one of these easy tips. Try freezing up some small ice cubes made with your favorite fruit juice. Add a few cubes to a tall glass of water. It will have a weak fruity taste, as well an eye catching appearance. Or, if you like the taste of lemon or lime squeeze a small wedge into your glass of water.

If tap water safety concerns you, you may want to invest in a home filtration system for your drinking and cooking needs. When traveling or away from home, opting to drink bottled water may be more convenient than bringing your own with you, just make sure the seal is not broken and check expiration dates closely. Avoid prepackaged water in questionable plastic containers, certain types of plastics have been linked to hormone problems.

While meeting the nutritional needs of both mother and baby are very critical issues, adequate water intake education seems to take a back seat in its level of dominance for a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and a healthy infant. In fact, dehydration problems in the general population is the single most important preventable solution in healing a very long list of degenerative health conditions in itself.

The issue of morning sickness has often been attributed to deficiencies of specific nutrients lacking in the mothers diet by many nutritional health experts. According to Dr. F. Batmanghelidj, M.D., author of “You Body’s Many Cries For Water” claims, although it is very subtle and simple by nature, morning sickness is the first sign that a pregnant female and her fetus are dehydrated.

Dr. B states in his book, page 15, “during the intrauterine stage of cell expansion, water for cell growth of the child has to be provided by the mother. However, the transmitter system for water intake seems to be produced by the fetal tissue, but registers its effects on the mother during the early phase of pregnancy”.

This very unpleasant symptom of being pregnant hinders many women from eating properly, sometimes well into mid-day. Instead of trying to figure out what type of food nutrient may be missing from the diet, why not treat the nausea with water first?
